FELIS
BENGALENSIS
THE WONDERFUL
BENGAL CAT
Asian Leopard Cat
The Bengal cat, or Felix
BENGALENSIS, is a relatively new and exotic distinct breed
of domestic cat which was attained by crossing a small forest
dwelling Asian Leopard Cat with a domestic cat.
In order to attain a beautiful
and wild domestic feline companion, various domestic
breeds were used to cross with
the Prionahuras Bengalensis , or Asian
Leopard Cat. In time, the
Bengal Breed was born.
The first three cross
generations of an
Asian Leopard Cat to a
domestic cat are called
"foundation
bengals",
and we refer to the early generation Bengals
as Filial Bengals. F-1,F-2, F-3 .
(First three generations removed
from the Asian Leopard Cat.)
Note: It is generally felt that the first
three generations
should be left to the specialized breeders who
are
properly prepared and informed to raise them.
It is
the SBT or fifth generation that are the true domestic Bengals.
Bengals are known
for their wild look, dazzling beauty, curiosity,
super athletic ability and also
their amazing intelligence.
Bengals love to jump high for toys, fetch, play
in water, and often will come when called by
their name.
Bengals, also have wonderful slow rolling
movement

which makes for a very wild looking walk.
Bengals, beautiful fun and smart, thrive on
love and attention and truly do make
affectionate and loving
family companions.
